The effects of loneliness on one's health are serious: "Loneliness can impair health by raising levels of stress hormones and inflammation, which in turn can increase the risk of heart disease, arthritis, Type 2 diabetes, dementia, and even suicide attempts." Living in a social senior living community can help provide fellowship, socialization, and community involvement among seniors who would otherwise be living alone.
A well-balanced diet and mix of physical activity can improve your cardiovascular health and lower risks for heart disease and low blood pressure. Leafy greens, whole grains and berries are some of the best foods for heart health. Leafy greens are high in vitamin K and nitrates which can lower the risk of heart disease. Whole grains are high in fiber and eating whole grains can help lower systolic blood pressure. Berries are high in antioxidants and make a satisfying and delicious low-calorie treat! Here are 15 other foods to add to your diet and help improve your cardiovascular health: ow.ly/GvVg30nk6d6... See moreSee less

My husband & I were still active & young enough to enjoy all the many amenities living in Geneva has to offer when we moved to Geneva Place almost 7 years ago. We sold our house and have never regretted the decision to "give up" yard work, house upkeep, replacing household items, (big items), etc. Now we do more things we really enjoy such as bike rides😀 along the Fox River, garden (Ed has a large garden) local concerts, walks in Island Park, Geneva, St. Charles, Batavia, plus explore different parks & sites in the area. I could go on & on (sometimes I do) - but you get the picture. We love it here !!!😍
